Chippa United co-coaches Kwanele Kopo and Thabo September will have had a king-sized headache in trying to decide the starting line-up for Wednesday's game against Moroka Swallows, with Goodman Mosele one yellow card away from a suspension.

With a place in the DStv Premiership sealed for next season, the Chilli Boys will have one eye on Saturday's Nedbank Cup semi-final against Orlando Pirates, knowing they are that close to bagging the R7 million prize money that comes with winning the competition.

They fell at the last hurdle in their only cup final appearance since being a topflight outfit, a 1-0 loss to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in the 2020/21 season.

Mosele has been a vital cog in the Chilli Boys midfield since arriving on loan from the Soweto giants at the beginning of the current campaign, and already proved his worth to his parent-club by netting against them in a league encounter that ended in a 1-1 stalemate back in August.

His absence would be a blow for the team, and having to go 90 minutes without being cautioned might prove a challenge for someone who plays in his position and has to get stuck in tackles in trying to break opposition attacks.

Coaches are known to show their wits in such situations, with Jose Riveiro having to do without Patrick Maswanganyi, easily the best player for Pirates this season, against Cape Town City on Wednesday after earning a fourth yellow card against Royal AM over the weekend.

Other Chippa players sitting on three yellow cards are Craig Martin, himself a former Buccaneer, as well as Azola Ntsabo and Baraka Majogoro.
