Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has revealed a target he has set for himself after reaching the 13th goal mark in the league season with a brace against Cape Town City.

Mabasa's brace against City handed them a 2-0 victory that increased their chances of finishing second and qualifying for the CAF Champions League.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic striker inevitably walked away with the Man of the Match award.

"First of all I'd like to give thanks to the man above, he's the one that has blessed me with this talent and given me this opportunity, so all the glory goes to him at the end of the day," Mabasa said on SuperSport.

"But it's been a very difficult couple of games, we had a game in Durban on Sunday, we performed well, got the victory and today that's what we wanted as well, just to win. We knew we'll create chances so we just wanted to bury the chances we create and hopefully walk away with all the three points.

"I'm a striker, I'm critical on the chances that I miss. So if I get to have at least five shots in a game I want three of them to go into the back of the net, that's me, that's who I am and I'll continue to work on it in order to achieve those numbers I've set for myself," he said.

Mabasa carried on and stressed the importance of qualifying for the CAF Champions League for a big team like Pirates.

"This is a big team and this team deserves to play and compete in the CAF Champions League each and every season and that's exactly what we're aiming for," he continued.

"And I believe we can achieve it, hopefully, things are not currently in our hands, Stellenbosch still has to play but we'll continue to do the business and collect three points wherever we can," he added.
